From How to Turn Your Pain into Power- Chapter 4- I was just thinking

I was reading in the Herald Sun on Google where a psychologist states that people allow their “inner critic” to attach and demoralize their self worth and esteem. The articlesays past events act as current day realities that stop people from moving forward.

I fully understand what the article was saying. It is this inner voice that we seem to play over and over again, where we focus on the one negative thing and refuse to see the ninety-nine good things. This is the focus of my book How to Turn Your Pain into Power.

To destroy the negative words playing over and over, you will need to replace your thoughts with words not with thoughts. If you are having a conversation in the quietness of your mind you need to speak out positive words to interrupt and cancel negative thoughts

Okay how many times have you been carried away by a negative thought and someone interrupted you with words? Did you snap straight out of it… I bet you did.

Now this is a process to break the record of negative thinking with positive words. You have to start somewhere and this is a good place to start.

You need to create these statements and repeat them out aloud everyday within meaning and intensity until they becomes part of you. This is not incantations but confessions form your soul about who you are at heart. Not by what has gone wrong but by who you are. When that inner critic starts to harass you just remind him/her who you are by saying :

  • I am strong, bold and courageous
  • I am changing for the best
  • I am forgiven
  • I am wise
  • I am a standard bearer
  • I am here to positively impact my generation
  • I am here to reflect Gods glory in the earth
  • I am a friend of God
  • I am the Redeemed of the Lord
  • I am light in darkness
  • I am in this place for such a time as this
  • I am God’s workmanship created in His likeness and image
  • I am more than a conqueror
  • I am an overcomer
  • I am a survivor
  • I am here to serve my generation
  • I am here to made an impact, which cannot be erased.
  • I am the apple of Gods eye
  • I am a possibility thinker
  • I am God’s mouthpiece in the earth realm

Give some thought to it and define the words that work for you. This thing is simple but it works. I used this to break negative thought patterns and confront the enemy within.

Try it for three days and you will experience a massive shift from inside out!
